RAN is delighted to announce that international rugby will return to its region this October. Meridian Rugby Fields, Home of the Turks and Caicos Islands Rugby Football Union, in Providenciales, is set to host the Fireminds RAN Sevens 2021 on October 16-17, 2021.
RAN’s Women’s 10s tournament remains an important development tool for the women’s game around the region. Heading into its fifth year, the number of teams competing, and the caliber of play continues to increase.
The three-day tournament – which features Senior and Age-grade divisions for Men and Women – will act as a qualifying tournament for the Centro Caribe Games in 2022, RWC Sevens qualifiers in June 2022 (location TBC) and the 2022 Commonwealth Games in Birmingham, England in 2022.
RAN is pleased to highlight a new initiative with ChildFund Rugby aimed at further developing and strengthening safeguarding systems for all participating in rugby throughout North America.
While all eyes will be on the Guinness Six Nations over the coming weeks, the tournament also serves as an important reminder that the sport continues to prioritise work to prevent, diagnose and treat injuries, including concussions.
Rugby Americas North is committed to recognizing the positive people, role models, programs, difference makeres and culture that make the sport of rugby special throughout North American and the Caribbean and are calling for story nominations.
Player welfare is the number one priority in the game of rugby, and everyone has a role to play in ensuring a safe environment for training and competing as we get set to return to rugby from COVID-19. Here are a few tips and best practices for you to take into consideration.
